Welcome to EIP Kindergarten
The Early Intervention Program is funded by the state of Georgia. Children who come to kindergarten with a deficit in beginning school skills have been identified and placed in my class. We can only have up to 14 students, which allows us to have more small group and one on one opportunities to help children learn the skills they need to be successful in their school career.
Mrs. Lisa M. Sofield
I have been teaching kindergarten for eight years, two of them in primary special education. Before that i taught first, second and third grade. Kindergarten is an awesome place to be! Even though my students come to me missing some breginning skills, we celebrate successes all year long building confidence and self-worth along the way.
This year my students will be learning how to read and write stories and how to count to 100 and add numbers together. They will also learn about sorting, patterning, time and money and the people in our neighborhood. There is too much to mention it all now. Stay tuned to hear more about what's going on in our classroom!
When we came back from Christmas break, we had a new para-pro in our room. Her name is Mrs. Rosie Moss. She is great. She loves to do art projects with us and helps us keep on track with our work. We are very happy and blessed to have Ms. Rosie with us.
Mr. Peter Byrne is our school's speech pathologist. He joins our class several times per week to help teach phonemic awareness (letters and sounds). The kids think they are playing games! Sshhhh, don't tell!
